1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference site, operated independently of all government offices. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve official files, conduct official background checks, or submit documents for a visitor.
The site identifies the Westchester County offices and New York systems that maintain relevant records. Those sources include the creating police agency, Westchester County courts, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. New York Freedom of Information Law applies to government agencies, not this private website, while Executive Law §837 limits dissemination of DCJS criminal-history information. Some pages also connect visitors with outside search tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use of the site is conditioned on following these rules. You agree not to:
- Use the site in violation of federal, New York, or local law
- Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information found here
- Rely on site content for housing, hiring, credit, or insurance decisions
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against these pages

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is forbidden and may also violate criminal law. New York places specific limits on misuse of New York State Sex Offender Registry information. Correction Law §168-q permits a $500 to $1,000 fine and injunctive relief for unlawful use. Registry information supports public safety awareness; it does not authorize vigilantism, employment exclusion, or housing discrimination.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Westchester County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create background checks, credit reports, or any other consumer report. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools here for reviewing rental applications, screening job applicants, setting insurance rates, or assessing credit. You must not use information from this site or a linked tool to:
- Make a hiring or termination decision
- Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
- Set an insurance premium or assess creditworthiness
- Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
- Carry out any other FCRA-regulated activity
When a legally authorized purpose requires an official check, use the channel specified by the responsible agency or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA. DCJS Personal Record Review is a fingerprint-based process for the subject's own New York record, not a public name-search service.

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Although it describes criminal-record processes in Westchester County, it cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or New York record-sealing rule applies to one person. Seek advice from a New York-licensed attorney for that analysis.

Criminal records change as charges are filed, resolved, corrected, or sealed. Clean Slate processing under CPL §160.57 and court-ordered sealing can also affect what remains available. Updates may lag, so nothing here should be treated as an official statement by a court, police agency, DCJS, or another government office.

Links lead to Westchester County departments, court portals, New York agencies, legal-service organizations, and outside search providers. A visitor who follows one leaves this website for a service outside its control. The destination alone controls its content, fees, availability, and handling of submitted data.
